Author Policies

Policies for ICABER-25 Authors

ICABER (Conference on Technologies in Artificial Research) looks forward to welcoming everyone to Manitoba in April 2025. To help you better plan for your participation at the conference, please review the author presentation policies below. When submitting your camera-ready version, authors of accepted papers must acknowledge these policies and agree to comply.

1. In-Person Presentation Requirement

At least one author is required to present their paper in person and must, therefore, register for the conference at the in-person rate.

All presentations must be done in-person. There will be no remote presentation option available.

2. Acknowledgement of Policy at Camera-Ready Submission

At the time of camera-ready submission, the following acknowledgment will be required:

“I commit to an author presenting the paper in-person at ICABER-25. If exceptional circumstances arise that prevent the authors from presenting the paper in person, I will notify ICABER immediately. I acknowledge that if I do not notify ICABER about exceptional circumstances, the paper will not be included in the proceedings.”

Policy on Use of AI Systems in Producing ICABER or ICABER-Related Publications

1. Plagiarism and Use of AI Systems (e.g., ChatGPT or Similar LLMs)

Papers that include text generated from a large-scale language model (LLM), such as ChatGPT, are prohibited unless the produced text is explicitly presented as part of the paper’s experimental analysis. This policy does not prevent authors from using LLMs for editing or polishing text written by the authors themselves.

2. AI Systems and Authorship

ICABER-25 follows the ICABER policy that AI systems, including generative models such as ChatGPT, Bard, or DALL-E, do not meet the criteria for authorship of papers published by ICABER. As such, these systems also cannot be cited as sources in papers published by ICABER.

Authors bear full responsibility for their content, including checking for plagiarism and ensuring the accuracy of all text.

3. Handling Allegations of Plagiarism

Any allegation of plagiarism, whether due to the use of an LLM or any other reason, will be investigated thoroughly by ICABER. If plagiarism is substantiated, potential sanctions include:

Rejection or retraction of the work.

Notification to all the authors’ institutions or employers, as well as any other relevant authorities.

Denial of service and access to all ICABER-sponsored meetings.
